About

I am a high school computer science (CS) teacher although I've taught many years of middle and high school mathematics. I currently teach AP CS Principles, AP CS-A, and CS III at Bellaire High School in Houston ISD.

I grew up near Pittsburgh, PA, and earned a B.A. in History and teaching certification in secondary mathematics from Rice University in 1996, and a Master of Arts in Mathematics at the University of Houston in 2014. I am currently pursuing a postbaccalaureate degree in CS at Oregon State University. I've taught at various Houston-area middle schools and high schools - mostly mathematics and more recently, CS.

For a few years, I supported teachers and students through the Rice University School Mathematics Project (RUSMP) and the Rice Center for Excellence and Equity in Education. I continue to facilitate professional learning workshops for teachers through RUSMP and Code.org.
